About Kayla
Kayla was born and raised in sunny California. She studied Family Studies and Human Development at University of Arizona as an undergraduate with the intention of applying to nursing school. While helping care for her brother after graduating she discovered Occupational Therapy and had a complete change of heart. Skipping ahead a few years, Kayla relocated to London to be with the love of her life and develop her career further as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist. She is loving the new culture always striving to better herself as well as her practice.
Kayla’s approach to everything in life is constantly evolving. She aims to always keep learning, listening and up to date on the latest research for evidence-based practices. She incorporates her experience from working in New York City, continuing education courses, interpersonal relationships and life to utilize traditional and alternative strategies to help each client reach their individualized goals.
Kayla’s Credentials
Kayla obtained her MA degree in Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California. She practiced in New York within private clinics, public schools, private schools, skilled nursing facilities, homes and via tele-therapy. She is now based in Central London and services children as young as 2 years-old to adults. Kayla is trained in Sensory Integration, DIR-Floortime, reflex integration practices, behavioural management and Yoga for the Special Child. She holds a 200 hour vinyasa yoga teacher certification as well as a Tomatis Practitioner certification. Her practice style is child-led and play-based to keep children engaged and intrinsically motivated to reach their highest potential. In her free time, Kayla enjoys traveling and learning about new cultures, appreciating music and the arts, running and practicing yoga.
